System Requirements
Online Learning
- Processor: Intel (Pentium IV or above, Celeron, Xenon, Core) or AMD (Athlon, Opteron, or Sempron)
- OS: Windows XP SP2 or 3, Windows 2000 (with Service Pack 1 or R2), Windows Vista SP1, or Windows Server 2008
- RAM: 1GB (1024 MB) required. 2 GB recommended
- Disk space: 1 GB of free disk space after installation of all required products for the course
- Graphics: 16, 24, or 32-bit OpenGL capable graphics adaptor
- Browser: Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 2 or 3, or Netscape 8.1 or higher
- JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled.
- Microsoft ActiveX must be enabled for Internet Explorer.
- Vista supports Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 or 3 browsers only.
- Internet: High-speed Internet (DSL, cable, LAN) connection
- Phone: Landline connection (to access audio)
- Drive: DVD
- Sound: Windows supported stereo sound card with speakers
- Software: Appropriate MathWorks products installed prior to course
Training at Your Facility
Because our courses make extensive use of hands-on examples, PCs or workstations are required. The operating system should be consistent throughout the facility, and be supported by the latest version of MATLAB. Before the first day of the course, please install the trial software provided to you for the course. Each computer should have a CD drive or be networked for installation. An electrical outlet should be available for the instructor.
If you have questions or concerns about these requirements, please note them when requesting training. The MathWorks will work with you to accommodate your needs without affecting the quality of the course.
General Requirements
The following equipment should be available for attendees:
- PCs or workstations
- Consistent operating system that supports the latest version of MATLAB
- RAM: 512 MB required, 1024 MB recommended
- Disk space: 1 GB of free disk space after installation of all required products for the course
- Drive: DVD
- Internet: High-speed Internet (DSL, cable, LAN) connection
- Software: Trial MathWorks software provided for the course installed
One of the following browsers will be required to run the MATLAB Help Desk and for demonstrating access to the MathWorks extended help family:
- Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 2 or 3, Netscape 8.1 or higher
- JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled.
- ActiveX must be enabled for Internet Explorer.
- Vista supports Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 or 3 browsers only.
The following equipment should be available for the instructor:
- Electrical outlet
- A computer projector with resolution of 1024 x 768 and lumens of 2000 or greater (If a projector is not available, The MathWorks can supply one at no additional cost.)
